Unlimited Hosting: Yeah right!
Dear guests, bloggers, webhosting customers,
i have been a member of WebHostingTalk mailing lists since 2006 and the following e-mail is one of the most interesting i received up to now.
“It’s been a bit wet and wild in the States here with hurricanes in the south, tornadoes in the mid-west, and powerful thunderstorms sweeping across the nation. Through it all, at least my cell phone kept up.
I love my new cell phone plan. I get unlimited minutes, unlimited text, unlimited internet access, unlimited everything-they-have-to-offer. I know what my bill will be at the end of the month. With no overages charges, it’s always the same. I love unlimited!
I can’t say the same for the unlimited hosting plans I’ve had though. I never had one that actually let me use what I want. There were always limits placed on what files I could upload, how much traffic I could support, and a host of other limited-unlimited clauses.” (Dennis Johnson, iNET Community Coordinator)
I am really amazed of how people is fascinated by “unlimited” hosting packages. Is it the price or the “unlimited” features that make customers queuing for actual shared bandwidth?? I am going to write a post regarding shared hosting and bandwidth on linux servers within the next few days, so stay tuned ![]()
